![]() ![]() There are some political connotations to using Brave that I wouldn't want to associate myself with, though that is of course a personal decision. Chrome has a leg up because of its superior mobile integration, but Firefox is tried and true, and still receives regular updates Chrome just makes the workflow of many users a lot simpler and more accessible See full list on the8-bit This brings us to the end discussion of the comparison between Chrome and. ![]() There are other browsers that do have extensions or more built-in options, but I'm sticking to the two you mentioned for this post.Īnd, of course, on both platforms, both browsers are based on Chromium. ![]() On Android, neither has extensions, but both have built-in ad blockers (With Edge, you go into settings to enable it if desired and then there is another setting to block "acceptable ads" as well), and both have sync, so that is probably a draw. Otherwise, I am not sure which one will work better for you in that department (It may depend on your specific setup). If you use Windows on desktop, Edge is optimized for that for obvious reasons. I'm happy that Brave has become a lot more popular but comparing to browsers like Edge and Vivaldi, Brave is barebones in terms of extra Browsing features. ![]() Not that it matters much but it's an objective way of comparing browsers. You did mention speed as something you were looking for. Currently, Brave lags behind standard chromium in terms of browser benchmarks. On desktop, neither browser has a way to implement anything close to my UI preferences (Which are for more of a classic interface with more visible menus, options, and information), but they do both kind of look like Chrome, so if you are attached to that look and feel and are switching for other reasons, I get why that might actually be a plus for you, or at least something you don't mind. I consider Edge the better and more trustworthy of the two browsers you mentioned (Brave has been caught doing some pretty shady things), so that's my straight forward answer to the question you asked, which only allows a choice between one browser or the other. ![]()
